Della McCracken was the great-great grandmother of my children. Her daughter Meta Norman Perry was their beloved Grandma-Great. Della's three daughters were:
Helen Kathryn: b. 25 Mar 1922 in Athol, ID d. 14 Nov 2003 in Post Falls, ID. Kathryn, as she was known, married 1. Glen Dell and 2. Dave Perry.
Meta M: b. 8 Nov 1923 in Athol, ID d. 25 May 2002 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Meta married Francis Eugene "Bud" Perry (10 Sep 1923 French Gulch, ID d. 5 May 2004 in Coeur d'Alene, ID) in 1941 in Coeur d'Alene. Bud owned "Bud's Barber Shop" on Sherman Avenue in Coeur d'Alene, which burned down several years ago after the restaurant next door suffered a kitchen fire. Meta was a registered nurse. They are buried at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. I posted Bud and Meta's grave site online at Find-a-Grave.
Dorothy J: b. 1926 in Athol, ID. Dorothy married Noel Wallen and she is still living in North Idaho.
The following is Meta's obituary:
No service will be held for Meta M. Perry, 78, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Perry, who was born in Athol, Idaho, died Saturday.
She was a lifelong Coeur d'Alene area resident and married Bud Perry in 1941.
Mrs. Perry worked as a registered nurse at Kootenai Memorial Hospital and various local nursing facilities for 25 years. The couple had spent winters in Yuma, Ariz., for the past 15 years.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Master in Coeur d'Alene, Daughters of the Nile, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Perry enjoyed gardening and sewing and had won several awards for her quilting talent.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bud; a son, Butch Perry of Coeur d'Alene; a daughter, Marian Lau of Coeur d'Alene; two sisters, Kathryn Perry of Coeur d'Alene and Dorothy Wallen of Spokane; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (my note: Meta actually had six great-grandchildren; whomever wrote the obituary neglected to add a great-grandchild who was adopted by Meta's eldest grandson).
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, PMB 134, 212 Ironwood Drive, Suite D, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to inquire with my children's Grandma. :-)
