In 1998 My adoptive father ,due to health issues, had to move from his home in south Fla.to my adoptive sister's home in Az.At this time,because my sis and I had durable power of atorney,we had access to his safe-deposit box at his bank.At that time I learned my bio-mom's name and as a matter of fact, the name I was given at birth.
Yes I have the final adoption decree,and that is why I know my bio mom's name and her a.k.a. name.Yes, I have an amended b.c. listing my adoptive parents as my.parents.
Yes I know the name of the attny. who represented my adoptive parents in my adoption.Although he died in 1994 his son, also an attny.has most of his files .I contacted him and he searched his files for the data.Unfortunatly that data was destroyed 7 years after his death.
The non-i.d. data I recieved from the N.Y.S.registry gave me the info concerning my bio-mom's age,her vocation, her religion and the fact that she had given birth to four children before me.It also gave the age,but not the name of my bio-dad As far as my bio dad's name is concerned that was a mis-reading of the adoption decree in my possession.I do not ,at this time know my bio-dad's name.

As concerns my bio mom's kin,at the time of that post I believed that I had identified them ,but further research revealed that this was a dead-end.I asertained this by actually speaking with the great-nephew of the woman I thought might be my bio-mom.He told me that his great aunt named the same as my bio mom had died in the late 40's having never given birth.
I hope that this clears up any questions you may have.As you my be able to tell ,I am not new to this type of search.
It seems to me that the next,logical step,is to do a search of the N.Y. birth index.If you disagree or have a better idea please let me know.
