My father was a cousin to Jack Dempsey the fighter. I am not sure if it was 1st cousin or not. My father(Willie D Dempsey) was born in Owen County Kentucky. His father , Frank Dempsey and his father was James Dempsey all from Owen County Kentucky. Dad always told me that he was Jack's cousin. I have a brother named after him. His name is William D.
