Here is what I have on Gideon Morgan:
Gideon Morgan and Patience Cogswell had a son, Gideon Morgan, Jr. born August 6, 1776 in Preston, New London, Conn. (some say 1778). He married Mary Margaret Sevier on October 27, 1813. she was a Cherokee Indian, born October 8, 1799 in TN, daughter of Elizabeth Lowrey.

Col Gideon Morgan, Jr.. commanded a Cherokee Regiment in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, with Andrew Jackson in 1813. He died September 18, 1851 in Calhoun, TN..He was called "Aganstata" by the Cherokees

Gideon Morgan, Jr. and Mary Sevier were the parents of George Washington Morgan, born December 1, 1817 in Calhoun, TN. He died October 27, 1863 in Ashland, KY.. He was a Major in the Confederate Army, who served with John Hunt Morgan and Thomas' Legion. He married Martha Keizah Mayo on October 26, 1848 in McMinn Co., TN. She was born June 16, 1826 in Rhea Co., TN..She was a non-Cherokee. They also had a son Gideon Morgan, born April 3, 1851, in Athen, TN. I believe he is listed as 1/16 Cherokee on the Miller Rolls.
I have not listed any of the other children of these Morgans.
