In the 1900 census for Chicago, Illinois, I found the following family:
-Casper Schluter, b. Aug 1833 in Germany
-Eva, his wife of 43 years, b. Jan 1841 in Germany, mother of 10 children (6 living)
-George, son, b. Oct 1873 in Illinois
-Bernard, son, b. 1879 in Illinois
In 1910, I found a Bernard that seemed to match, also in Chicago:
-Bernard Schluter, age 30, born in Illinois
-Matilda, his wife of 2 years, age 26, born in Germany
-Bernard, son, age 1 1/12, born in Illinois
And in 1920, Chicago:
-Bernard Schluter, age 38, born in Illinois
-Matilda, his wife, age 35, born in Bavaria
-Bernard, son, age 10, born in Illinois
And then this obit from the Chicago Tribune, Aug. 20, 1962:
Mathilda Schluter, nee Pfundner, Aug. 17, wife of the late Bernard P.; dear mother of Bernard J.; sister of Theresa Haidl and the late Mary Buck, Anna Ederer, Helen Stonitsch, Hedwig Guthmann, and Joseph Pfundner. At Birren & Son Funeral Home, 1356 Wellington avenue. Funeral Tuesday morning, at 9:30. Services in St. Andrew church at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Joseph cemetery.
Hope this helps some more!
