Hello, Shelagh, James Gardiner's daughter, Emma Gardiner Martin, had her first son baptised at the Brunswick Chapel, Moss St., on 5 Jun 1831. (Methodist ) and then baptised again at St. Peters (C of E) on 10 Mar 1833.. I found a newspaper, Liverpool Mercury 28 Nov. 1834 ,article in FindMyPast that shows James was criticizing the other Methodists in Liverpool and trying to reform them. An article in defense of them is adjacent. We do not know what were his convictions at that time. Please explain what you mean by the other family? Thank you. Shirley
