It just occurred to me that this guy is trying to access records outside of the subscription that he is using. If you have a US subscription to Ancestry, when you find a record from Germany, England, etc. all you see is the names, with the words date, location, etc. I can see this is a legitimate marketing tool to get people to upgrade their subscription to included countries out side of their current subscription. If he wants to see these records he needs to upgrade his subscription to include those countries.
I also believe that he has an axe to grind with Ancestry and posts these comments thinking he is accomplishing more that aggravating the people who come for and to help using Ancestry.
Ancestry is not the only place to find original documentation. While FamilySearch is a major universal source for documents, there are many state and county genealogy sites with good records. I have an ancestor who moved to Michigan in the mid 1800's so I will be checking the sites mentioned. If you are researching Allen or Adams Co Indiana Ancestors, the Adams (
http://adamsingenweb.com/) and Allen (
http://www.acgsi.org/ ) counties genealogy sites are excellent sources of images and transcriptions of records. I have found a couple of images of Wills on the Adams Co site. On the Allen county site I found a vital piece of information in the transcription of some records that I never consider for genealogy information.
