Thanks all for responding to query on Valina Garbarina (and its various spellings). I don't have it written in any official document--it's what I remember my aunt (who was born there) telling me before she died. I knew my grandparents and they always said they came from Russia -- and all the census entries give place of birth as Russia. My grandparents spoke Yiddish and Russian. My American-born father told me that his parents came from somewhere between Minsk and Pinsk.

I'm using JewishGen as well and draw a blank. Thanks for the efforts.
