St. Croix Public Library in St. Stephen, Charlotte Co., NB or

a library in St. Croix, McAdam Parish, York County, NB?

I have a brick wall EASTMAN. By any chance do you have anything on Abiathar EASTMAN (1781-1813) who married Susan Durgin July 1, 1800 at Conway, NH, USA? The branch I have ended up in Aroostook County, ME, USA, but supposedly came from CAN. Any leads would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sharyn

I've found Abiather and Susan but they're not in my line as far as I know. I have nothing that far back in NH. My Eastmans were in New Brunswick and Maine in those early years of the 1700-1800's.

I do see Abiather b 1781 in Conway Twsp. NH married to Susan Durgin. Parents were Abrather Eastman ( probably misspelled) and Phebe Merrill.

Sorry.

Thank you for the name of Phoebe Merrill. It is another clue I didn't have and can now pursue as time permits.I did have the name of her husband as Abiathar Eastman.

Go to the LDS web site. It is free for your use and has quite a bit about your particular Eastman branch, including the Holt family. www.familysearch.com is, I believe, the correct address. Let me know if I can assist in any way.

Thanks for reminding me to look at FamilySearch.com. Unfortunately there are no requirements for documentation to submit Pedigree Resource Files so these are just clues, but valuable clues they are. Thanks for the help.

I would love a copy of your Eastman family history!

I am looking for info on 2 separate Eastman families:
1) Rebecca Eastman married William White (originally DeWitt) in St. John's, NF Canada in April 1876. Reportedly, she was from English Harbour, NF. They are my paternal g-grandparents who lived in Harbour Grace, NF.
2) Cyrus Eastman (born in Canada) married Lois Holden in 1855 in North Gower, ON, Canada. They are my maternal g-g-grandparents.
3) Info found recently (from deceased relative's paperwork) shows notes on your David Eastman who settled in NB as possible connection to the Ontario Eastman family.
Would love to share all info with you too!
Please email me directly at: Cewhite57@hotmail.com
THANKS!
Cathy

Karen Miller - I would be very interested in what you know about the Eastmans in Charlotte New Brunswick, as I have just stumbled on them.

From the 1851 census, and forward I have gathered a lot of info, but who was the husband of Isabella/Sarah Eastman, mother of Thomas, Sarah, Jacob, Samuel M, Folonsby, Henry, etc.

On some census, she is living with one son or another and after 1851 she is listed as Sarah.

HELP please.

Many thanks

Hello, Pat. What do you want to know about them? The first one I have is David,a loyalist, married to Mary, who came with the in the 1780's, with three children. I think he was a shipbuilder. One of the children born after they arrived in New Brunswick was Thomas, who married Sarah Mabee. (I do have her parents and grandparents, etc. although they are not strictly Eastmans.) A son of Thomas and Evalina was Folonsby (which can be spelled about ten different ways) who married Evaline Murchie. One of Thomas and Evalina's sons was Frederick, who married Frances Teresa (Fanny) McDonald.(Who was a daughter of either Daniel and Ann McDonald OR Donald and Ann Mcdonald....Every source says either one or the other, but none of them are primary sources and I haven't figured out her parents for sure.) Most of this bunch lived on Old Ridge. How far do you want me to go with this; what is it you are trying to find out?
