We shared 112 generations of common ancestry. You can check the Huang Genealogy on my website for more information. As you can see, I’m still in the process of updating my website. I don't have much free time to finish the website as I'm always busy with work. Translation is not easy. One of the problems I face is translating the official titles. You will see in most cases, I don’t translate them but rather transliterate them.

Although I am a busy man, I'm always willing to spend time to help other Huangs in search for their roots and I do this free of charge.

I have received several requests from fellow Huangs (even from other surname clans) to translate their genealogy but I have to politely turn down their requests as I hardly even finish mine :p

But I can tell you your ancestor Huang Tao was a Jinshi scholar. He passed the Civil Examination in AD895 and was given official appointments. The Huang Clan of Putian is very prosperous. A great number of Cantonese-speaking Huangs (in Guangdong province) today also belonged to Putian Huang lineage as the founder ancestor of the Cantonese Huang Clan, Huang Juzheng, was a descendant of Huang Tao.

We should be proud of our Huang ancestry.

Erik Huang
