I guess my question would be, then, if his death certificate says Londonderry - Mahon, this is the cemetery that is listed as being in Great Village? There is no other cemetery in the area referred to as Mahon Cemetery?

Thanks for your help!

There is only one Mahon Cemetery. Named after the Mahon family. East Mines is next to Londonderry Station (railway) and Londonderry Mines (iron ore) is just down the road. By 1920 no one would refer to Great Village as Londonderry so your great granduncle was probaly buried at Hillcrest cemetery at Londonderry Mines. There are two smaller cemeteries within a mile of Hillcrest. One called St Ambrose, I believe, and the other at the Catholic church.

Hello, Denise. I believe there is a cemetery in the Great Village area of Colchester County, not far from Londonderry, called the Mahon Cemetery. Sorry I do not have further information on that. Evelyn

There are many little cemeteries in that area. Contact a local funeral home and they may be able to help you. Also Kelly Eagles in Debert, 902-662-2074. He is president of the Hillcrest cemetery in Londonderry. I will be in that area the last 2 weeks in August to do my family research. My email is hueyhome@windstream.net. Let me know if I can do anything for you.
