I am a bit confused now on if we are talking about the same Willet Brooks or not? I too have all the info available at Ancestry but still cannot bridge my Willet to yours?

Perhaps we need to start again and put out what we know as FACT as it seems you have been doing more digging the last 2 years? There are way too many coincidences not to be the same guy but then again there are differences as well?

-My Willet Brooks was born about 1835 in Canada
-Your Willet Brooks about the same time, in Canada

-My Willet Brooks married a Melissa Robertson here in Canada in 1860.
-YOur Willet was married to a Louisa Jane Robertson but now you are mentioning Louisa had a sister Melissa? Where did you get this info from Bob?

-My Melissa Robertson's parents were a William and Miriam or Matilda but as I told you, this family does do not show up on the 1851 Canadian Census. In other words I could not find Melissa Robertson on the 1851 Census.
-You are suggesting your Louisa and Melissa's dad died and a Phil Cunningham married their mother. Do you have a name for the mother? And was the family living in Canada or the USA? Do you have them on any Census?

-my Willet and Melissa show up married on the Canadian 1861 Census and then disappear. On that Census they did not yet have children.

Perhaps we can find some small detail to make this all fit?
