Anyway, you mentioned the store your relation had and sold to Malachi Tarrant. A 2nd cousin 1 x removed thinks Malachi Tarrant might have some relation with my O'Keeffe/O'Keefe family. Possible that his wife - Helen (Nellie) Sullivan-Tarrant might be a relation to Julia Sullivan-O'Keeffe/O'Keefe.

In case you are wondering - some folks use O'Keeffe and others use O'Keefe hence the double spelling. My direct line uses 1 "f" and my 2nd 1x cousin uses "ff". But been able to cobble together we are the same family but I am always a doubter.

In your family history was there ever the name Curtin? That is my other Jersey City connection. From Ireland to America. Curtin ~ 1870 and O'Keeffe/O'Keefe ~1882 to NYC and 1889 to New Jersey. Take care and hope you can give more detail of the 2nd ward from the late 1800's and early 1900's.
