I believe my grandmother, AdaMae Koontz and my uncle, William Koontz are buried in Goldfield. They both died in the early 30s. I would appreciate any help on locating the grave sites. Thank you. Jacqueline O'Donnell

Your Grandmother and her son are side by side and have what looks to be a bronze headstone but as the graves are surrounded by farm wire fencing even though there are gates I could not open either to get close to the graves. The stone is covered with dirt so could not read half of it. All I could read was William M. with Beloved Brother below . In a couple weeks I will go back and get my daughter to open one fence. Will take pictures and if I have your e-mail could send them.

Thank you. We actually made a trip to Goldfield last June and located the graves. Thank you for taking the time to look and to reply. I appreciate your kindness. Jacqueline O'Donnell

Was there a son Louis? My dad, Ray Jepperson, was raised in Goldfield and played basketball with Louie Koontz in high school. If he is related to you, I have a few pictures of the basketball team that he is in. Email me. thatzaneladyatyahoo.com (change "at" to @. Yes, Louis was Ada's son. I found them on the 1930 Goldfield census:
Koontz, Ada
John H.
William
Louis K. Jr
Charles D.

My Dad played basketball with Louis Koontz in Goldfield in the late 1920's-early 1930's. I have a photograph of that team with Louis in it. I would be happy to share if you would like a copy. I also found Ada Koontz on the 1930 Goldfield census. If you don't have that, let me know and I'll send it too.
