Hi Ann
I think that the Andrew Dunn born in 1839 was the brother to William who is my great great grandad, I think! When William and his wife died close together in around 1873 Andrew my great grandad went to live with his Uncle Andrew (your husbands relative) at Greensburn farm. I have not looked at this for a while so am no further with finding out much more. Andrew Dunn who married Margaret Dunn in 1832, Andrews dad was called James and Margarets parents were David Dun resident in Berrymuirend and Isobel Benny Kilsyth. They married in 1808.

I hope this makes some sense. I have had no luck as yet finding James Dunn, but we are going back a bit now.
Do you have any other information. Do you know anything about Greensburn Farm?
Thanks
Tracey.

Hi Tracey,

We have a connection with the Dunn family. My ancestor Isabella Stevenson married Andrew Dunn in a double wedding with Mary Dunn (sister to Andrew) and Alexander Stevenson (brother to Isabella). Would love to make contact.

My email is dondons9@xtra.co.nz

Looking forward to hearing from you

Cheers Donna

Hi, just found this site, and see that you are researching Dunn of Stirlingshire. My great great grandfather was Alexander Dunn B:1801 Stirlingshire. His second son Alexander as well, was B: 1837 Stirlingshire. Migrated to the US in 1856. He had 4 siblings, William B:1826, Margaret 1840, Jamet 1834, and Catherine,1832. The elder Dunn married Margaret Halley. As far as I know, everyone except Alexander (the younger) stayed in Scotland. Could only find them in a 1841 census. Found an earlier birth, but no mention of Alenxander.... Do you think there is a connection? Would love to hear from you. Many Thanks in advance. Sharon Ferguson Wright

Hi, my ggrandfather Alexander Dunn, was born in Stirlingshire, as was his father Alexander 1801. Found the family in 1841 census, but nothing after that. I do know Alexander (the younger) came to the US in 1856. Cannot find anything on the rest of the family. Margaret, Janet, and William. Nor the mother Margaet, nee Halley. If any of this sound at all like you have, please email me. Thank you for your time. Sharon Ferguson Wright

Their children are William 1826, Alexander1837, Catherine 1825,Janet1834, and Margaret1840. Could the William, here be connected to your Dunns? Thank You for your time. Sharon Ferguson Wright

Just read your message. Would your William Dunn be the son of Alexander and Margaret Dunn? All born in county of Stirlingshire. William is my great 4 times removed grandfathers son. If you feel we have a connection, I hope to hear from you. Thank you for your time, Regards Sharon Ferguson Wright.ps If I have already mailed you with a query, I am so sorry.

Hi, I hope you don't mind if I ask, (where did you get the book for Stirlingshire? Would love to purchase one. If you are still doing look-ups, would you check for a John Dunn B: 1780? who was married to a Janet Ferguson. I cannot find a death date for him. Thank you for your time, Regards Sharon Ferguson Wright
