Catherine---thank you for the information--yes, you are right---this is the correct ancestor for us Summit Co Ohio Witners....had some, but not all info you listed. Would love a list of other children of Johann George Witner---and where they located, married etc. Also---there seem to be 2 George Witner's here---and I am not sure how all of them are related. My kids descend from Daniel Witner jr who married Barbary (Barbara) Gaugler. Barbara was born ca 1839 in Union Co (now Snyder )PA. Her parents were Samuel Gaugler and Susanna Thornton. Barbara was my great grandfather's sister. (Yes---I unknowingly married my 3rd cousin, once removed). Daniel Witner was the son of Daniel Witner sr---but who was Daniel Witner sr's father----was it George Theobald???? Thanks so much for the info ==lets keep in touch...treasure
