Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
There are two Joseph J. Gyalog's that I know of. Here is the info on one that may be helpful to you. He was my father-in-law and passed away July 19, 1998, in Aloha, Oregon. He was born in Canton, OH, November 6, 1921. His first wife was named Pearl. She left him and the children for another man and moved to Florida. Joseph's brother Martin and his wife were childless and were eager to adopt the two children and raised them. I have forwarded this link to his biological daughter to see if she feels that she may be your biological sister. I don't want to share their names without their consent. Pearl fits the description you gave and this would explain why she moved out of state. My husband is the only child of Joseph J. Gyalog's 3rd marriage. I hope this puts you one step closer to finding your answers. I have many photos of Pearl and Joseph.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
I just looked up the birth certificate of his younger child, a son born in 1944. This child was 3 years old when his mother put him and his older sister in a cab and sent them to their Aunts house, never to see her again. Then she left for Florida and this falls into the date range of when you would have been born. This all went on while Joseph was serving his country.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
Thank you so much for your reply. It is very difficult to get information on adoptions that took place in Florida, but I plan to keep trying. I think my next step will be to actually go to Tallahassee next summer where the records are kept. I have tried to obtain this through emails, phone calls, and filling out forms, but have not had any success.
Your information matches with the fact that I had been told that I had two biological siblings that were older.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
My son has a painting of his Grandfather (when he was a young man) as his facebook profile picture right now!!! So if you want to see a picture of Joseph Gyalog, google "Justin Gyalog facebook". His children all look like him. So this may be helpful.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
I just Googled this and the Justin Gyalog that was shown had a photo of a young man and a female with long hair. That didn't seem to fit what you described as the painting. I clicked on the search for more, but did not see any others. I'm not a member of Facebook, so maybe that is why I didn't see what you described?
Thank you. I would love to see that painting just to see if it looks like my son at all.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
The picture is of me and my son Justin, I just checked. I'm trying to reach him to get him to change it back to the painting of Joseph Gyalog. So the young man you see is Joseph's grandson. I'll find some way to get that picture to you, if not thru facebook.

Re: Looking for Information on Joseph J. Gyalog
Wow! Thank you!
That painting looks like the photo I found on here a while back, but can't locate it now. However, if looks are any indicator, this was not the right Joseph J Gyalog because my son and I have very dark hair and eyes. It's hard to believe, but there are actually two, but a Joseph J. Gyalog lived in Tennessee based on the records I have found.
This feels so strange searching for this information for my son. I never had any desire to do any searching, and really still don't, until he asked. But, I know this is important to him and will continue. He also has no desire to interrupt any lives and will not contact anyone even if locate biological relatives, but he loves history and hates it that he doesn't know anything at all about this side of his biological roots.
Thank you again!
