Exactly as mi2early said! Click on Localities, then Central Europe, then Germany, then General or areas as required. If you are looking for older stuff try Historical Regions too.

Enter Germany into the search field ("Find a board about a specific topic")and you will find:

Localities > Central Europe > Germany

Click on Germany and all of the boards falling under that location will be displayed:

all wonderfull , I know that all.
But: why you do I not find the Westfalen Board there?
Only when you go to all boards there is Westfalen.
On the other hand all is a little bit mixed and confusing.
Why is Germany not to find at Western Europe but at Central Europe ? And Poland at Western Euope and not at Eastern Europe ?

You will need to ask staff that.

There are three categories for Europe under localities - Western Europe, Central Europe and Eastern Europe. Germany is in Central Europe because that is where it is, it is not considered part of Western Europe - Poland is also Central Europe, because it is also in Central Europe, neither Western nor Eastern Europe. I would suggest you read up a bit of the history of Westfalen and you will find that it was a somewhat vague region and part of Prussia, so you would probably get most help from the board for Prussia under Historical Regions. Since 1947 the only "Westphalen" has been the "Land" (Province) of NordRhein-Westphalen which became a "Land" in the Federal Republic and is still a "Land" in re-united Germany. Some methodical searching will answer most of the questions.

British Library Online (newspapers, periodicals) I discovered this link that could be helpful for searching W. Europe, E, Europe and Asia. It isn't the easiest to search but information is good.

The German board is the board where people trying to find facts/connections about relatives/ancestors from Germany or German areas put their queries so that anyone with further knowledge can suggest possible answers. As already said, click on Localities - then Central Europe - then Germany - then GeneraL or any particular area which is of interest. For queries prior to 1919 taking a look at Historical Regions is also very useful - just taking a look will show you very clearly what the German Board is.
