several years ago I was given a family tree that goes back to John Geake, husband of Betsy Honey Geake. Both born, lived, died and buried in Boscastle, N. Cornwall England. They had five known children...George, Jane, Mary Susanna (Geake) Tonkin, William and Diggory. George and Mary Susanna came to America and settle in Pennsylvania (Bangor Pen Argyl area) in 1883. This document shows George as the father of Joseph. Mary Susanna was born 1845 and died in 1929 and had 10 children(my great grandmother and bros. and sisters). Diggory was husband of Hattie Taylor Geake and children were Vera Geake Haynes, and Marjorie Geake Ferrett.

Don't know if this helps any of you...wish I could get information from Boscastle on John and Betsy...

My husband is descended from John GEAKE b abt 1790 in South
Petherwin Devon who married 2nd wife Mary BAKER in 1837 in Egloskerry Cornwall.

They had 4 children: Elizabeth, William, Mary and Jane.

Mary GEAKE was born abt 1848 and married Edward Charles MANICOM in St Breward Cornwall.

Dallas

I would be interested in the family tree you received some years ago about John Geake and Betsey Honey. I am a great-great-granddaughter of their son Willliam Tonkin and Mary Susanna Geake. My great grandfather was their son James who married Edith May Miller. I haven't done much research on this line. I was thrilled to see your post. I will gladly share any info I do have. Looking forward to hearing from you.

In my Geake family I have John b. 1791 at South Petherwin, Cornwall. His sibs are Eliz 0 1789, Richard - 1793, Wm - 1798 and Walter Reed - 1804. They are the children of Richard Geake and Elizabeth Reed. Richard was born in Egloskerry in 1745 one of 9 children. I am descended from his brother Edward. It could easily be the same family. Let me know if you want more.
