Ynfante's

Francene,

My grandfather passed away in 1965 and my grandmother in
1982. From what I hear my grandfather was part Native American.
That's the reason why I asked if your grandmother knew where the
name orginated. The Ynfante name is very rare at least the way
we are spelling it. My Dad John Ynfante is 71yrs old, he doesn't
remember much about his dad side except for a few cousins. I am
wondering if your Grandmother means Beeville, which is where my father
was born. Have you tried looking at this site:
http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/metasearch
alot of Ynfante's there are related.
I have an Aunt who has been making a familytree to check
into the names you gave me.

Francene,

One of our Ynfante trademarks: Most of the men
have a resending hairline. Like the well known
Mexican singer Pedro Infante. In fact in my dad's
younger days he favored him

Does your Dad remember his dad? My grandmother said that John Ynfante's children would have been young when he died. Also she told me this morning that it wasn't "Bonaldo" but "Bonalder" she also said that she doesn't remember if they called it Beeville. I went to the web site you listed and I found where someone is starting a geneolgy for a Lucas Ynfante from Nacogdoches. In talking to my grandma somemore about the name Ynfante she believes that even though he moved to Texas from Mexico, she thinks he may have been spaniard. Alot of my family are very light complected, they also have very kinky hair like Puerto Ricans. So where the name originated from is anyones guess??? As for the men in our family they do have rescending hair lines, I have 4 uncles who are still living who are Katie Ynfante's sons and they all have rescending hair lines. Do you have relatives with the name Lazarine, I'm not sure if thats the proper spelling. My grandmother said that one of her mother's sisters had married a man with that last name. My grandmother has a family picture of Lucas Ynfante with his wife and children. If you would be interested in seeing it let me know, we can figure out a way to send it e-mail. Meanwhile maybe I can call some uncles and try to find out more things.
