Surnames: Cea/Paccione
My great grandfather was Michael Cea. He was an ice/coal dealer. He was from Toritto, Italy and born around 1893. He came to NY in 1898 and then possibly again in 1905. He married Maria Paccione, born 1895 in Toritto too. They lived in NY and then moved to Brooklyn. Their children were Jean, Mary, Ory, Anna, and Margaret.

I'm looking for any information on Michael Cea and his family. I think his father's name may have been Orenzo. Also, looking for any information on Maria Paccione.

I have Cea in my family line - related thru the LaVista side. I have begun a datebase on Paccione from Toritto, trying to see how we all may be related, or connected. It's on going and I'm adding names regularly. I also posted it on rootsweb.

Hi! My grandfather Paul (Paulo) was from Toritto. He had a brother Joseph (Giuseppe) and a sister Esther (Pasqua). Uncle Joe was married to Aunt May. They had a son, Stephen Cea, who had two sons, Ronald and Joseph. Are you that Joseph? My father's name was also Stephen Cea.

I made an error. Stephen had 2 sons, Ronald and Stephen. Ronnie had 2 sons, Joseph and Ronald. Does this sound familiar to you?

Hello Betty, my grandfather Guiseppe Cea came from a town in Bari called Gromo, I believe he emigrated from Italy in 1906 and moved to New York city, East 6th Street (where most of the Italian immigrants moved to at the time). I do know he had brothers, though he died in 1977 in Brooklyn where he raised 9 children. Upon moving to the United States he became an iceman, and then went into the junk business, scrap metal etc. He did well for himself considering he spoke very little English and had no formal education. All of his children were/are healthy and lived long fruitful lives, with many children of their own.

Not sure if one of his brothers was Michael, but its safe to say that the name Cea is not very common now, so it surely wasn't common close to 100 years ago, point is, I'm sure that all of the Cea's from Bari were related in some fashion.

I hope this helped you put some of the pieces together - for more info you can reach me at Rob.m.cea@gmail.com
