Re Claydens, Lexden. I am currently researching Stanway c1900-c1920. The Claydens of Lexden come into my research as Arthur & his wife Elizabeth ( son of Arthur Clayden, Lexden) were trading in Stanway during the period I am researching. Arthur`s brother, Alfred Charles, was killed in WW1 and is commemorated on the Lexden War Memorial. The family are still here ( in the same house in Stanway).If this is the same family contact me - I can probably help.
