Thanks for the note. My Mary Gengler died before 1920 so
this isn't the one I was looking for.

Genglers in Weyer Germany

I stumbled across some misinformation on a Gengler website whose address is no longer active. In case you're interested, the author was tracing Genglers in the service of Hessians in our American Revolution. Two were recruited from Weyer Germany,,,according to the records. The web author said there was no such place and deduced they must have been from Weyer Luxemburg.

There is, in fact, a Weyer Germany in Hesse. It's near a larger town called Limburg along the Lahn river. I know because my ancestors are from there.

To find the article, go to Google and do a search under Weyer Germany. On about the fourth or fifth page you should find the article. hope this helps.

Dear David, Thank you so much for the sharing the information concerning the Genglers in the American Revolution with me. I am always interested in learning anything about any Gengler that I can. I know very little about the Genglers in Germany but would like very much to learn more. I will check your site as soon as I send this.
Thank you again, Cindy

Hello everybody,

I am working on a book concerning the families who left the area where I live to overseas.
For the moment I have more than 250 Family Names from the villages of Bavigne, Mecher, Liefrange, Kaundorf, Nothum, Boulaide, Baschleiden, Syr, Harlange, Tarchamps, Watrange, Berlé, Doncols, Grumelscheid, Noertrange and Winseler.
I now have added Esch-sur-Sûre to my list and as I am living not far away from this town, there will be no problem to get some data if available.
I would like to learn more about these families. Of course I am willing to share the data I have from this side of the ocean mainly birth and marriage records, notary records, articles from the Luxemburger Gazette.
Many thanks in advance,

My site is located at http://webplaza.pt.lu/public/haffren

I would appreciate hearing from any Gengler researchers who are connected with the Genglers of Reichlange. There was, perhaps still is a Marie Gengler living in our ancestral home at Reichlange, which was originally the Raths House. I am descended directly from the Raths. A Raths married a Rausch, then eventually a Rausch married a Gengler, hence the Gengler connection has continued to this day.
