I have been told that I'm related to Mary Towne Esty. As of yet I have no verification but I'm trying to find it. Any help would be appreciated. I believe my line is through the Esty's(Estee)-- Jeffrey, Christian, Jeffrey, Isaac married to Mary Towne, Joseph, Joseph, Joseph, John, Elijah married Elizabeth Austen, their daughter=Elizabeth Esty married Lewis Bailey Haight, their daughter=Emma Viola Haight married William Asbury Gross, their son-Arthur James Gross married Bessie May Howard; their son-Ralph Lewis Gross married Frances Susan Ripley; then me. If anyone can help with the Esty and/or the Towne family, I'd appreciate it.

Hello I was wondering if you are related to a Chronister line. My grandmother was a givens and she was related to a few jones. I am not sure all of their names. But my grandmothers name was Dimple or "Gertrude" as everyone called her. Her last name was Chronister after she married my grandfather William, or "Joe" as he was called. Please let me know if any of you out there knows if there is a connection. I just have a strong feeling that I am related to someone who was involved in the trials.
Please let me know soon!!
Thank You :)

For anyone interested in more Towne ancestry information, there is the Towne Family Association at townefolk.com. Their database has more than 76,000 people and over 26,000 families. I have started a facebook group called "Towne Cousins." We currently have 114 members - I added 4 today. Send me your email if you cannot locate the FB page. The TFA is having a reunion in Danvers (Salem Village) in August 2014.

I am a descendant of Mary through her son Isaac.

Mary Towne Esty is my 8th great grandmother. My line to her is her son Joseph, then his son Joseph, and then his son Joseph III. Joseph the third's son John, and then Moses, whose daughter, Sarah Anne Esty married John C. Chittenden. Their first child, Warren Esty Chittenden is my great grandfather. He lived in Illinois. All of the children of Mary and Isaac Esty who lived (and there were about 10) married and had children, except for Hannah, who stayed with the family to care for them (her father, and two young brothers). While she did eventually marry, she had no children. The rest also had large families, so there are quite a few of us out here. I have a co-worker whose background is quite different from mine. We are both in Idaho, but our families came from elsewhere. We both are 8th great granddaughters of Mary Esty and only found out because we are in to genealogy. Mary and Isaac's two sons, John and Joseph are our grandfathers. I know of at least 5 more 8th great granddaughters and 3 8th great grandsons.

I have the same line through John! You are only the second one I have seen with that. I would like to find more evidence of the children and their families, but have failed so far, except for a few documents.

I am her great niece (several times removed) through her father William Towne .
