Estate of JOHN GROVE
On the petition of JOHN SPARKS in right of his wife ELIZABETH SPARKS late ELIZABETH GROVE one of the
daughters and heirs at Law of JOHN GROVE late of German Town in the said County deceased stating that the
said JOHN GROVE the father of the said ELIZABETH lately died intestate leaving a widow, to wit, MARY {since
intermarried with ELIAS PASHALL} and issue thirteen children to wit, SARAH {intermarried with LEMUEL HALL},
JACOB, ELIZABETH intermarried with JOHN SPARKS your petitioner, CATHERINE {intermarried with JAMES
AULT}, SHEPHERD, JOHN, PARRY, LEVI, HANNAH, NATHAN STEPHEN, HARVEY and MARY the last nine of
whom are in their minority and that the said Interest died seized in his demesne as of fee of and in the following
described pieces or lots of land situate in German Township aforesaid - to wit, one acre in German Town bounded
West by Market Street North by other lands of the said Interstate, East by the same, and South by spring Alley -
also four acres and fifty nine perches strict measure bounded south by middle alley, West by land of William
LAURY North by lots of NICHOLAS FAST and East by Greene Alley - and twenty four acres and one hundred and
Seven, perches strict measure, bounded West by the great road North by land of GEORGE DEBOLT, East by
land of CALEB HANNA and South by land of LEONARD PUKENPAUGH and Germantown the whole number of
acres being twenty acres and ten perches with the appurtenances. And praying the Court to award an Inquest, to
make partition of the premises aforesaid to and among the children and representatives of the said intestate, in
such manner and in such proportions as by the Laws of the commonwealth is directed of such, partition can be
made without prejudice to or spoiling the whole, but if such partition cannot be made thereof as aforesaid then to
value and appraise the summand make report of their proceedings therein according to law. And therein an
Inquest is awarded according to the payer of the said petition by the Court.
