I think that this subject person is one of many men in Virginia named Cornelius Dabney. One such person was the first father-in-law of Christopher Harris, who died testate ca 1797 (?) in Madison Co., KY. Christopher's first wife was Mary Dabney, and their eldest son was named Dabney Harris. Christopher was originally of Albemarle Co., VA and prior to that Louisa Co., VA. No doubt the Cornelius of whom you write is of the extended Dabney family. Thanks for your interest.
