My father visited the Dungog Hookes a few times in his life. He is sadly dead now ~(six years). One day I shall make it to Dungog and visited some of my very now distant cousins and find Hooke Street. I understand that at one time between the Hookes and the Mackays we owned over a million acres of farmland. At Crookes now in England there are only fifty acres left due to death duties. Of course Crookes in New South Wales is now owned by the Mackays and much of the land went to the Cameron family.
