Glad to help; glad you posted your query. I like a good mystery, too, lol.
Thanks for the website address, I'll look at it when I finish this posting. I absolutely love Murder Mystery dinner! How fun for you!! I almost never solve the mystery but I love trying. You'd think after 100's of reruns of old Perry Masons & Murder She Wrote that I'd learn a little. I guess I'm a slow learner but definitely enjoy the process.
I should email you all the census records we can round up on the Col & his family. If you have a decent printer, they are fun to frame & hang up where there's lots of foot traffic. At first glance, if you're not familiar with them, they look like so much chicken scratch or drawings by a 3 yr old but absolutely everyone gets hooked looking at them. Excellent conversation starters. In my old house I had more wall space than I do now so I had a bunch of my family & the associated census hanging all over the place. It was a hoot. Some people kind of pretend they're above everything or know it all so they ignore them but given a little time everyone gives into curiousity. I've gotten about 10 people hooked on genealogy; even the librarian from my local branch calls to ask how to find stuff, lol.
Actually, I'm doing some of my own research in your general area, Brown County & a few contiguous counties. Also across the Ohio River in Mason County KY. I'm in MA so I'm used to trying all the angles for getting info thus when all else fails, I call a library.
Hope you have a fun weekend; I'm sure your guests will! Hope your weather is better than ours. It's so chilly, the furnace keeps trying to kick itself on. Rain, rain & more rain & chilly temps. Next week it will probably be 95. Welcome to New England!
Regards,
Linda
