I talked to my grandmother this morning and it turns out she knows a lot about the Gardner family. However, though her 84 year old mind is sharp, I had a hard time organizing the info she was giving me so here is my attempt to recount what she said:

As far as she knows, "Doc" Gardner was married the first time to an Ainsworth and she didn't know of any children from this marriage. The second wife's name was Lila (Lida? She wasn't sure) Maples, and they had a daughter named Gloria Jean. The rest of what you recounted about her fate was what she had heard as well.

Doc's siblings included: Leila Richburg (? she thought that was her married name) who is the only one living and is in a nursing home in Pensacola.
Roy "Doll" Gardner and Lola Gardner (along with Doc) are all buried at Antioch West Baptist Church in the Sandcut Community in Butler County
Cecil Gardner is buried in Georgiana
Hillary Gardner moved to Sylacauga and she believes must be buried there.

Roy "Doll" Gardner's daughter, Judy Gardner Yates lives in Dothan with her husband and communicates with my grandmother regularly. I believe that is the only Gardner she keeps in touch with.

She said she was going to find out more detail about Doc's marriages from someone she knows, but that is all she knows right now.

I hope that is helpful! Let me know if I can do anything else for you or if you need contact info for someone in the family.

Rachel
