I have a "possible" John Grant in my family. I can trace my family back to Peter Grant(1798-1850), whose mother is Flora Grant, the oldest sister of Peter Grant the Shoemaker (1794-1841) in Lancaster. Her siblings are John Grant, and Isabella Grant Farrell. I haven't found a grave for Flora yet but her brother Peter, the shoemaker is buried in the cemetery called Lancaster on the Lake in Kirktown. There is a grave for a Flora Grant in the cemetery at the Salem United Church in Summerstown and it is a possibility. Her children are Margaret Grant McGregor, Mary Grant Ferguson, John Grant, James Grant, Peter Grant (my ancestor), Alexander Grant, Flora Grant McArthur, and Duncan Grant.

I think that Flora's husband is called John because of family lore. They think his name is John Bui Grant. Does this family fit into any Grant families that anyone is researching? They are Presbyterians.

Sincerely,
Barb Gressel
