Thank you for sharing your story with me - I enjoyed reading about your time spent working for the SS Pierce company! I shared your post with my husband and he enjoyed it as well. We appreciate you taking the time to jot down some of your memories about the company - We don't often talk to or meet people who have actually worked in one of the stores.

From what I've heard it was a great company and well respected brand in New England, but you're right that there were problems with the way it was managed, which ultimately led to it getting sold. My husband's grandfather helped manage the sale of the company to Seneca foods - but he doesn't speak too much about it other than agreeing that it could have been run better in the end.

Thank you again for sharing your story with me - it was very nice to hear! It sounds like you didn't stay in the food industry after you returned to the UK? I'm glad you have a nice memory of SS Pierce, even if you decided to pursue another path in your life.
