I have a genealogy book on my mother's direct lines. Unfortunately the research on the Ashcraft and Dodson families wasn't finished at the time the book was published (in 1966)

Ashcraft and Carr were not traced back before Richard and Elizabeth (Carr) Ashcraft. And the Dodson family wasn't traced back before Jonathan from Fayette Co. PA.

Direct lines of my maternal grandfather:
Richard & Elizabeth (Carr) Ashcraft had a daughter, Mary, who married Jonathan Dodson.
Jonathan & Mary (Ashcraft) Dodson had a daughter, Elizabeth, who married John Frakes
after a couple of Frakes generations, my great grandparents, Malissa Ann Frakes & Thomas Jefferson Gibson married.

Direct lines of my maternal grandmother:
John and Barbara (Quick) Shacklett had a daughter, Sarah Q. who married John Jenkins
after a couple more Jenkins generations, my great grandparents, John Charles Jenkins & Nettie Bradley married.

We are related through the families of Ashcraft, Carr and Shacklett!
