Dear Jerry, Your William Henry Jr. is indeed the child of Wm. Henry Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Rose Sautford. I do not know where the Sautford comes in. I assume that it was after the death of Wm. Henry Sr. in 1936, in Palo Pinto County Texas. Wm. Henry was married to Rebecca Isaacs in Jackson County,Ky. Some older family members have disputed this. I can assure you that the father of George, Linville and Martha is the same man as the father of the children born in Jackson,Whitley Counties in Ky and the ones born in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas. Some say that the first three children were adopted by Wm. Henry and Elizabeth. That is not true. Martha Alice was born in 1882 and there are several stories that have been told of her demise. In 1885 Elizabeth and Wm. Henry were married in Jackson County, Ky. In 1900 they were in Whitley County with George living next door to them. As far as the mother of Wm. Henry Sr. I have not found anything that says for certain that Koltina Tucker was his mother. I have seen his death certificate and am not convinced that the entry of his father and mother are correct. I have found that Catherine Elaine Roberts raised him. In the 1860 Owsley County Ky census she is with his father Anderson Roach. Anderson was he son of either John or Thomas Roach and Sarah "Sally" ??. Some say Bowles was her maiden name. I have not been able to prove this. Catherine and Anderson were together with Wm. Henry Sr. in the Lee County Census in 1870. In 1875 Anderson remarried to Margaret Combs. In 1880 I find Wm. Henry Sr. with Rebecca and George and Catherine Elaine in the Jackson County Census. I do find the the purposed parents of Nancy Elizabeth Rose were Andrew Rose and Annie Jo Carpenter. They lived relatively close to Rebecca's parents in Jackson County. They might have even been related. I have not proved that one yet. Please write back. ps. you were not disowned LOL..
