I am a college professor who has been doing some research on these other children's homes. I must say that from what I have seen, their records are meager. You can try contact the Diocese of Providence to see if they have anything. I am not certain how forthcoming they will be. I have seen some copies of annual reports but those do not include children's names or information about who was there or why these children were there. I also understand that in some cases, the records were removed by the Catholic order of nuns who ran the orphanage. The saddest thing for me about all this is how many dead ends there are when someone who has been in state care tries to learn anything about their childhood.
I don't think that this has been much help and I am sorry for that.
