Jocelyn,
RE: “I have no further information on the Green family of Monroe County, New York, other than what I posted. I wish I did. I know they connect to my Hubbard-Thompson-French family of Monroe County, NY, but I don't know how yet.”
My GREEN family comes from Monroe County, NY: John GREEN married Anna HETZLER (born 1813 in Wheatland) about 1828 and they had four children: Emeline, Dewitt Clinton, Frederick R. and Elizabeth. The family moved to McHenry County IL about 1838/1839 and are found in the 1850 census living in Seneca, McHenry, IL.
Included in the listing of household members is a Jane B. FRENCH (Note: could this be James, the result of a transcription error?), age 7 (9?), male, whose occupation is listed as “farmer” (image 5 of 20 on Ancestry.com).
I have not identified the surname FRENCH in any other families associated with my GREEN family and find your comment “they connect to my Hubbard-Thompson-French family of Monroe County, NY” interesting. I wonder if you may have someone in your database that would be a match for either John GREEN (born about 1800, possibly in Dutchess County, NY) or for Jane/James B. FRENCH?
