Robertson Family Reunion
The descendants of James and William Robertson former pioneer residents of this city, held their annual family reunion at Columbian park Saturday. The guest of honor was David Robertson of Indianapolis, who lived in this city until a few years ago. He is 79 years old. The oldest member residing in this city is Mrs Henry Budge of Perrin avenue. The direct descendants present yesterday were James Robertson of Gary; David Robertson of Indianapolis; Mrs George Huck and Mrs Emma McDowell of Lafayette; Mrs E.G. Jackson, Gary; Mrs Henry Budge and Frank Robertson of Lafayette; children of William Robertson. James Robertson came to Lafayette from Hardentown, Ind., in 1844, one year after they were married. Mrs Henry Budge was elected president for the following year; Mrs Bessie Kantz, secretary and treasurer; committee – Mrs Cora Robertson, Mrs Ida Hartnett and Bruce Rittenhouse. There were 131 members present. The relatives from out of town were: David Robertson of Indianapolis; Mr & Mrs James Robertson, Mr & Mrs E.G. Jackson, Mr & Mrs W.A. Jackson and family, Mr & Mrs Raymond Jackson, Mr & Mrs Ray Watson & family, Mr & Mrs George Robertson and family, Mrs Hattie Robertson Keneus and Mr & Mrs Hogan and family of Gary; Mr & Mrs Warnitz of Chalmers; Mr & Mrs Ed Ball and family and Mrs Kittie Sells of Hammond; Mr & Mrs Arthur Zwissler of Princetown; Mr & Mrs Harry Robertson of Indianapolis, Mr & Mrs William Leach and Mr & Mrs Walter Vergil of Rankin, Ill.
