Susan, I am researching Joel Hyman, d.1817 Bertie Co.
He married Polly Pender, 8 June 1800, according to B.C. Index. My Previous records had her name as Mary so I presume Polly to be nickname, I do not know his parentage and I have not been able to do much searching for the past year. Joel had a daughter, Elizabeth Hyman who married into the Gill family, also of B.C. The Hyman name was used in male descendants for several generations of the Gill family after that.
