In 1932 my grandfather Robert Franklin Chappell Jr wrote to his daughter Lillie Mae Chappell Keeble to aid her in her geneology search. I will be scanning and uploading that same transcribed letter this weekend. I have been very successful in tracing my roots beyond Capt John master of the Speedwell and have no proof that he ever actually settled in the Colonies. Back in 1999 I did have a copy of a manefest of one of the voyages of the Speedwell landing in Virginia and included was his Wife as a passenger. But that was starting from way back then coming forward to today with several assumption on my part.
More recently I have come to believe Capt John never settled in Virginia but sailed back to England, and one of his Cousins (probably) Thomas Chappell sailed on the America to land in Virginia around 1630-35.
