Have any of you installed the updates they are referring to?

I have not installed the software on my computer yet so I can't confirm if anything in this article solves the problem.

I'm not so sure I want to attempt to do the other fixes they mention as I am very new to Mac.

I would love to hear feedback from those of you knee deep in this unfortunate situation.
