Charlie Blankenship, 77, of Whitman, Logan County, died Monday in Logan General Hospital. He was a native of Holden and was a former shop employe of No. 7 Island Creek Coal Co. Mr. Blankenship was a member of UMW and was a lifelong resident of Logan County.
Surviving: wife, Nancy; daughters. Mrs. Rhoda Piccirillo of Columbia, S. C., Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey of Whitman, Mrs. Aileen Kidwell of Smithers, Mrs. Goldie Welch and Mrs. Elsie Miller, both of Holden. Mrs. Donna Sibley of California; sons, Leonard and Ronald of Gary, Inc (?).
Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Honaker Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Levi Curry and the Rev. Dan Curry officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.
