Glad you jumped in - maybe we can untangle these families. Joshua Leathers is the son of John and Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) White and Ellender is the daughter of William and Nancy Glendenning Ellis, all of Kenton. Joshua and his sister, Elizabeth, married Ellender and her brother, James, and it looks like this one may be two sisters marrying two brothers also.
I have Harriet Leathers as the woman marrying James Wm. Kiskaden, 21 November 1867. From the census, I have the daughter, Ella Kiskaden.
I have Harriet's sister, Nancy Leathers, marrying John Newton Collier (b. ca. 1824) 29 November 1865 in what looks like the second marriage for him (based on a daughter, Nancy I., age 17, living with them in 1870). You have John marrying two Roberts sisters, right?
On the King side, I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't find the Laura Ellis King genealogy. I just put out some emails to other Ellis' I work with to see if they have it. I can do the line from Laura back to Va. but this other one had several lines forward to the present day through Ellis King, Laura and John's son.
I found Ella in two places in the census, first with her Leathers grandparents, Joshua and Ellender, at age 2 in 1870
and then in 1880 with James (?) Leathers 73 and his daughter, Susan Leathers 45, Ella then 10 listed as a boarder. I don't know how to interpret that, do you? James could be Joshua but who is Susan?
I also found an Ellen Collier, born June 2, 1852-3, to Lewis and Rachael Whitaker Collier who could be the other Ellen, age 19, on the census with Joshua and Ellender's family in 1870.
I've just finished updating the Leathers genealogy for publication this year and did this rather quickly. However, I got hooked on this line for a quirky reason - I found that both Stewart and Nancy Collier Leathers named sons for Albert Sidney Johnson Leathers, the CW general. I had just come back from living near Maysville where I had been in the ASJ house - interested me 'cause I'm a CW buff. Have Stewart descendent in Texas who is working on it.
Have I shed any light or just clouded the issue?
