POPE/GILES
As a recap Thomas Pope b. July 1, 1772 SC m: Elizabeth Loftin b. April 13, 1792 GA. on Nov. 20, 1808 Hancock Co, GA. Thomas Pope was son of Isaac Ricks Pope.
Elizabeth Loftin was daughter of John Loftin and Sarah Giles b. May 1, 1775 MD d. Aug. 12, 1856 Clarke Co, GA. Sarah Giles was daughter of John Giles b. 1744 MD d. Feb. 12, 1823 Clarke Co, Al. I obtained a copy of John Giles will which was probated in Clarke Co, Al. on Jan. 10, 1825. He names in his will Sarah Loftin, John Loftin, Margaret Pope, Barnaby Pope, Anne Vinson, Mary Dixon, Elizabeth, William, Elijah and John Giles, Jr. The question now is who was Barnaby Pope, husband of Margaret Giles and how was he connected to Thomas and Isaac Ricks Pope. This something for you to think about. Is this Barnaby Pope connected to the Barnaby Pope who was in Fairfield Dist, SC with Isaac Ricks Pope.
