In the 1798 Rebellion Claims and Compensation CD I looked for the name Palmer.
There is a Rev. Joseph Palmer, Rector of Kilsoran (?UKnown)
possible Kilscoran, Wexford
He was asking for compensation for his damaged dwelling, books, wine and a harpsicord in the amount of 148 Pounds, 17 shillings & 9 pence - quite a sum - and was paid in full.
Often lands, house and a church were given to the clergy by the Main Land Holder-Nobility in compensation for salaries and they could become relatively wealthy from the rentals.
