Tekla Carolina & Elias Ferdinand Andersson
Searching for relatives to this couple. Both originally came from Sweden around 1900. I think they married in america somewhere. They had 6 children: Emil*1903, Sven*1904, Beatrice Lily Aurora *1910, Olga *1912 & Reinhold *1913. During the 1916 census they lived in Orkney close to Yorkton. Then the next piece of information that I have found is their grave in Vancouver, BC. No traces of their children except for Beatrice. Please forward to those who might have a clue.

Re: Tekla Carolina & Elias Ferdinand Andersson
Thanks for information. It is interesting that Eva born approx 1905 is missing and someone called Sven born approx 1904 turns up in the 1916 census. But maybe the year of birth not was so important and details was not taken seriously?
In what way cant you read the borderXing? blurry copy or bad handwriting?

Re: Tekla Carolina & Elias Ferdinand Andersson
You are most welcome!
Couple of things I have learnt thro the years of searching;
Nicknames are often used instead of actual given names (a pain!)
ages can be well out (the biggest difference I have found thus far is 11) so, be generous (I usually do +/- 5 years) when searching
Especially when looking for people other than native speaking people - all sorts can be out... you have to be a tad creative....
The card is quite dark & blurry I'm afraid
kind regards
Ell

Re: Tekla Carolina & Elias Ferdinand Andersson
Yes I have noticed some quite unexpected spellings. Mainly due to an english speaking person trying to spell swedish names.
As I guess you have access to various archives I will be rude and ask if can you do a quick search on Nils Norsten (or Nels Norsten or Nek Norsten or Nelson Norsten). I think there are a few more spellings, probably a reason why I have not found more about his whereabouts. *1870 in sweden (brother to Tekla Anderson), went overseas 1892. Maybe he lived in Windom, Minnesota during 1893 when his younger brother John Axel *1872 arrived to Ellis Island and wrote that as destination. Married Sarah Lula and had two children, Ellen and Elmer. Left family soon after that. Most of his life he lived in Yorkton and Buchanan. Maybe went to US from Canada but no trace after leaving family.

Re: Tekla Carolina & Elias Ferdinand Andersson
Thanks again for bothering about my old relatives. I forgot to mention that I know what happened to Nils wife Sarah and the children, Ellen and Elmer Ernest. This I can claim because I actually managed to find a grandaughter(born Guthrie) and we have exchanged some emails. Hopefully more to come. It was just what happened after he deserted the family that we knew nothing about.
Unfortunately do I not have any middle names for the Anderson kids nor exact dates of birth. Emil Ferdinand sounds very likely to be the son, inheriting his fathers middle name. But on the other hand "Beatrice Lily Aurora" does not show any known names from the mothers side. Maybe from the fathers? I have not found his background yet. Teklas parents were called Joakim and Brita Carolina Norsten and she had a sister called Emma Margret that stayed in Sweden.
Beatrice was married to W. Salter and I have also been in contact with her grandson. Unfortunately was his story very short as his parents had divorced and that side of his family quite unknown to him.
Vänliga hälsningar Katarina
