Hello Brad,
I am more than happy to help.Family History is very addictive in a good way and I have certainly had help myself.Anyway I found a bit more information on James A.Darst's parents, at least I am pretty sure there is a match-I'll let you decide. I noticed on one of the census' that James'father was born in Germany and his mother, also. In the 1850 census, there is a James Dorst(I think it should be Darst-census writers interpretation)and he was born in 1844 and his parents Adam and Elizabeth were born in Germany. The family is living in Ohio at the time. You might try and research that a little farther.
*Also a few other items of interest:
in the 1880 census of Jackson, Shelby ,Ohio I noticed that Hannah Darst's father is living with them-Solomon Faudree born in Kentucky. So now you have a maiden name for your gg?grandma Hannah Faudree Darst.
*In the 1910 census James Darst is living with his daughter Grace Darst Graham and she is widowed they are living in Shelby, Ohio.
*in the 1920 census James Darst is living with Grace and she has remarried and is now Grace Darst Valentine. They are still in Shelby and James is 76.
* the last item is James'Death 27 Aug 1926 in Shelby, Ohio
I am sorry this is so long!Have a great day and please let me know if you need anything.
Best Wishes,
Sue
