Hello, Now I have a place to go. I don't have anything on Smith Mounts and Elizabeth Woods chilldren, I show they had 8 children, but no information. I had no record of Abraham "Colonel" Mounce in the war. Colonel was the son of John P. Mounce, his father was Joseph, his father was John Mounce Jr. and Rachel Wade. Matthias was the brother of John and Absolam Mounce, their father was John Frederick Mounce. John is the decendent of my husband. I do know that Absolam was killed by indians. I received this information through another relative Dee Reynolds. I would love to know more about the children of this family and your line?? You can find the world war I records on Ancestry, just type in World War I and give name. I gave up my Ancestry account when I finished (if you can call it finished) my Mounce search.
