I have spent the last five years studying the records of Dutchess County and have come to some different conclusions than those written about the Woodins of Dutchess County. From primary and secondary records, I find that there is a patriarch Amos Wooden born around 1720 who is living in Dutchess around 1745. I have found several children belonging to him. His son Amos was born Dec. 11, 1755. He died April 16, 1819 married Lucreatia Millard John Woodin born 1757 Dutchess County (Revolutionary Record) died March 15, 1840 married Rebecca Miller. Sussanah Woodin born 1759. She married John Meloy.
Daniel Woodin was born June 1, 1760 Dutchess County (Revolutionary War Record). He died Oct. 28, 1843. Finally Anna Woodin, she was born 1766. She married Joseph Brill.
There is also a Timothy Woodin whose sons are Timothy, Amos, and Reuban. The family of Timothy are very well documented in Sarasota County. Finally there is a family living in Fredericksburg William and Henry Woodin.
