1. STEPHEN1 MCRAE (Source: A List of Deaths in Hannibal , Missouri 1880-1910-From City of Hannibal Nd Marion Co MO Records, pg 52, A Stephen McRae 84 yrs 6 mos 28 das d 12/18/1889 bur Mt Olivet Cem. Next to him on list was Melinda b McRaem 31 ysr 11 mos 15 dats bur Mt Olivet.. Who?Was she a daughter of Stephen and Eliza Jane Hendricks?) was born 1806 in KY, and died December 18, 1889 in Marion Co MO Dr Gleason attended. He married (1) ISABELLA THRASHER (Source: Ralls Co MO Marriage Book "A" 1821-1845, 12.) September 22, 1825 in Ralls Co MO -m'd by Samuel Lippincott, JP. She died Aft. 1840. He married (2) ELIZA JANE HENDRICKS March 28, 1843 in Marion Co Missouri-William Fuqua, daughter of DANIEL HENDRICKS and DARCUS CONWAY. She was born Abt. 1824 in MO-, and died Abt. 1954.

1850 Marion Census-names and ages of children

The children which were named from a census as mentioned above are most likely from two separate marriages and at present ( Oct 1999) they are listed in some disorder, but further study should straighten them out. Also unknown is the "Mrs Stephen McRae's individual identity. She would most likely have been the first wife as the age difference between Stephen McRae (1806) and that of Eliza Jane Hendricks (1824) is 18 yrs. Most like the children born beginning with Lucinda were of the second marriage.

1860 Census, Palmyra MO had a James Penewell-17 yrs in home of Peter Peniwell-51 Yrs, MD Nancy 54yrs,KY and Peter 15 yrs of MO. Could this be the same one? It would make age at marriage 20 yrs and lived in the same area.

He married (2) ELIZABETH SPARKS December 07, 1848 in Marion Co MO , Rev Benjamin Davis, ME, daughter of JAMES SPARKS. She was born Abt. 1825 in KY.
