I'm helping a friend trace her family and I'm stuck with her great grandfather, Albert Harrison Allen. He was born September 29, 1878 in Iowa. His parents are John Tracy Allen and Mary Elinor Perry. I know nothing about Iowa research I am hoping someone here can help me figure out where in Iowa Albert may have been born? Where do I start? Should I just go county by county?
