Further to my last posting regarding Albert, I have managed to get a copy of his marriage certificate via 1837Online and then the GRO. Albert George Broadhead married a Annie Lenora Ross on 6 April 1940. Albert's job is listed as a Furnace Charge Hand and his place of residence at time of marriage was 43 Lindley Street, Rotherham. Albert's father's name is John who was a coal hewer. Witnesses to Albert's and Annie's wedding are a G. Wilson and J. Ross (the latter being Annie's father James Ross). Albert's age is stated as 20 years of age.
Albert and Annie later seperated after approximately three years of marriage, from this marriage they had one son - Terence who sadly passed away last year. He would love to have met Albert but left it too late to do anything about it as he was told that Albert had previously passed away. These enquiries where made sometime in the 1980's. He had always wanted to know his father but was always frightened that this would upset his mother. We have also been told that Albert definitely remarried. Did he have any more children? If he did I would love to hear from his extended family. Did Albert have any brothers or sisters?
My tale of woe to complete my family tree is I really need Albert's birth certificate, so hence I need his date of birth and where Albert was born. This would give me his mother's details as well as John's, his father (to further prove that the John I have is the right one). The only problem is according to 1837Online there are two Albert Broadheads listed one in June qtr born Wakefield 1920 the other born Dec qtr Bramley 1920. I also have a George A. Broadhead born March qtr Skipton 1920. The one that really sticks out is a Albert G. Broadhead born Hemsworth in the March qtr of 1918. The latter sounds more likely but the age would be wrong. Is it likely that Albert's age is wrong on the marriage certificate? This has really stumped me as I don't want to be sending off for the wrong birth certificate, or for all four. I have searched through 1837Online for Albert's death but to no avail. So is the information that Albert had passed away correct - when he could still be living!!
If someone could help or point me in the right direction I would be really grateful. I have found this quite perplexing and frustrating. Many thanks for reading my quest and hope to hear from someone soon.
Kind regards.
